Noun

Origin

  • From Late Latin muliebritās ("womanhood; womanliness"), from Latin muliēbris ("feminine, womanly") + -tās; or from muliēbris -ity; compare Middle French muliebrité. Muliēbris is derived from mulier (from mollior, comparative form of mollis, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *mel- ("soft; tender; weak")) + -brīs.
