force the voucher

Verb

  • To carry out fraud by placing an advertisement offering to send a list of winners for the purpose of sports betting, and replying to interested parties by sending out vouchers similar to those sent out by respectable commission agents, but displaying double or treble the current odds. The victim is informed that on account of early investments made by the firm, the extra odds can be laid by them, and a remittance is requested. The fraudulent firm later disappears with the money.
