dysanaptic

Meaning

Adjective

Origin

  • The word was coined as a scientific New Latin term in 1974 with the idea of dys- + ἀνάπτυξις to convey "unequal" + "growth", despite that to serve that intent it might better have been "anisanabolic" via aniso- + ἀναβολή (compare anabolism and anabolic).
