Origin
In 1920, following World War I, a monument to an Unknown Warrior was established in London and Paris simultaneously to the common memories of all soldiers killed in any war. Since then, monuments to the Unknown Soldier have been raised in many countries, each containing the body of one such unidentified soldier.
