An extinct deer (Cervus schomburgki (species)) once native to south-east Asia, having a dark brown coat and lighter belly, a short mane and basket-like antlers in the male.
Origin
Named after Sir Robert H. Schomburgk, British consul in Bangkok from 1857 to 1864.
