  • A combination of Mc- (from the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain) and Macondo, name of a fictional town in the novels of Gabriel García Márquez. Coined as the title of a 1996 short-story anthology by Chilean writers Alberto Fuguet and Sergio Gómez.
