An Ancient Greek city in the country of Ætolia, north of the Gulf of Patras in western Greece, situated on the west bank of the river Evenus.
The legendary founding king and eponym of the city of Calydon, whose failure to honour the goddess Artemis in a rite resulted in her sending the Calydonian Boar to lay waste to the city.
