Origin

• Arabic جِبَال الأَطْلَس, from ⵉⴷⵓⵔⴰⵔ ⵏ ⵡⴰⵟⵍⴰⵙ, both ultimately from the Ancient Greek Ἄτλας, stemming from the belief that the mountain range is actually the body of the Titan Atlas after being turned to stone.
